Making the Winter a Little Warmer
For more than 30 years, Gifts for the Homeless (GFTH) has been helping homeless men, women and children in our area stay warmer during the cold winter months. We provide essential new winter clothing items and blankets, as well as good used clothing and accessories, to shelters, soup kitchens, transitional housing facilities and other homeless support organizations.
100% of every penny we receive from the public each year is used to purchase and deliver new warm coats, hats, thermal gloves and socks, blankets and more – with a retail value of more than $2.75 million — to homeless support organizations throughout the DC/MD/VA metro area.
BANDING TOGETHER
GFTH hosts an exciting once-a-year charity concert each summer, Banding Together: Battle of the Law Firm Bands. Over the years, the event has raised over $2 million – all of it used to purchase new clothing for homeless men, women and children.

CLOTHING DRIVE
GFTH, an all-volunteer (501)(c)(3) nonprofit, runs the largest used clothing drive in the city during one weekend each December, sorting and delivering 3,000-4,000 bags of good used clothing and blankets, and then deliver all of those items to nearly 50 homeless support organizations across the metro area.
