GFTH is holdings its annual Used Clothing Drive on December 1-3, 2017.

The fun remains the same, except note that we are hosting at a new site this year: 2300 N Street, NW, Washington, DC (just north of the Foggy Bottom Metro Station; parking also available).

Volunteers Needed!!

We begin on Friday, December 1, and we need volunteers starting that day through Sunday, December 3.  Last year we had nearly 300 volunteers join us.  Please come out and help!!!

We need help with a variety of activities during the weekend:

– On Friday, we will receive clothing donations at our drop-off, and begin delivering items to a number recipients right away.  Volunteers, including drivers, are needed.

– On Saturday, our biggest day, we will sort, bag and deliver some 3,500+ bags of used clothing and other donated items.  While sorting is expected to be completed by mid-afternoon on Saturday, deliveries will go on all day long.

– On Sunday, we will complete deliveries up to early afternoon, and break down and clean up our sorting operation.

We have a special need for drivers (those with SUVs, trucks and vans are much appreciated, but cars work too!) and their passengers who can make the deliveries.  GFTH expects to deliver to more than 60 shelters and homeless service providers in DC, Maryland and Virginia.  Deliveries are a special part of the weekend for volunteers because it is a unique opportunity to see where the donations go and the appreciation from the beneficiaries.

Online volunteer sign up is now open for the GFTH annual used clothing drive, and you can sign up by clicking here: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/60B084AA8A928A02-annual4.  And if your schedule allows, please sign up for multiple volunteering slots.

We look forward to seeing you at the drive!!!
