GFTH has held a used clothing drive every year since 1989.  Over the years, the drive has expanded exponentially –

• with fewer than 1,000 bags of clothing distributed the first year to more than 4,500 large bags distributed in 2006, and
• from a handful of volunteers to several hundred volunteers!

The 2009 annual GFTH Used Clothing Drive was held on December 4-6. Once again, we sorted donated clothing and other items at The Portals III on D Street SW and between 12th & 13th Streets, SW. 

Hundreds of volunteers helped us sort and deliver thousands of bags of good quality used clothing, blankets, luggage and other items.

We are grateful to Republic Properties Corporation for generously helping us secure the use of The Portals III for our 2008 Used Clothing Drive.

Thanks to all of our donors and volunteers. The used clothing drives would not be possible without your support! Also, thank you for helping us continue to grow and find ways to expand the number of organizations we serve.
